Where the wildmushrooms and cinnamon scrolls grow – brunch in Seddon

  Saturday Brunch in Seddon

After a trip to our long time GP in West Footscray I thought it would be nice to take mum out for brunch nearby in Seddon. She had never been to the area before even though it is so close to the first residence they lived in when they came to Australia. I hadn’t had breakfast yet so we decided on checking out the first cafe we saw which was Common Galaxia.

We got a nice big table near the kitchen which Mr D immediately used as a race track for his little cars while waiting for us to order him something to eat.

We ordered:
– Kwak cinnamon scroll (Cookies and cream flavor)
– an almond croissant
– Wild mushrooms sautéed w truffle oil on sourdough w herbs, asparagus, haloumi, salsa verde & 2 poached eggs (the eggs were well done for me since I can’t eat them raw right now and they got it done just right!)

The Details:
The staff were great and very accommodating with the changes I had to my order and I really liked the dish I ordered. Mum didn’t like the almond croissant as much as the one she’s tasted at Laurent but we all loved the cookies and cream scroll! We had tasted the other flavors before and this one has got to be one of our favorites! Parking was easy to find and we parked right outside the cafe on the street and went for a nice stroll down the road after we finished our coffees.
