Sunday Reflections – Joy

I haven’t posted one of these in a while! I think the last one I did was this one here.
So here is a little excerpt from our weekly parish bulletin since it is Advent after all and a time for reflection and preparation. You can find previous bulletin publications here if you’re interested.

There is a clear note of joy in today’s liturgy.
Joy is a blend of laughter and tears.
It consists in having a love affair with life.
It is having a heart aglow with warmth
for all ones companions on the road of life.
It is looking for the happiness that comes in small packages,
knowing that big packages are few and far between.
It is making the most of the present,
enjoying what is at hand right now.
Joy is love bubbling over into life.
And it can coexist with pain.
Joy is the flag we fly when Christ, the Prince of Peace,
has taken up residence in our hearts.

Style Saturdays – Three years old and loving his threads

Styling Daniel The Urban Ma Pumpkin Patch

This little guy has just turned three and out of nowhere it feels like I have a grown up boy. From the most animated things he says to his current interest in flashcards and learning numbers, it feels like this past year has come to a close in no time.

This spunky little outfit Daniel wore the other weekend consists of items mostly from one of our friends which he got as a birthday present – such cool taste! The top is something I can totally see our dance crew, Rewind, wearing as one of our costumes lol! – it has these cool zips on both sides and is the long fitting type.

Daniel wears:

Black tee and shorts – both from Pumpkin Patch
Boots – Zara Kids (last year’s winter season, I think!)
Jacket – not sure where it’s from? It doesn’t say on the tag!

Style Saturdays – Lola and grandson’s day out in the city

The Urban MA blog Melbourne City

Trams, Christmas trees, coffee and Melbourne’s famous laneways. A wedding at the Grand Hyatt Hotel prompted us to book a room and have an impromptu staycation in the most liveable city in the world.

With so many merry things to see and do (most of them free! – see my previous blog post here), Daniel and Lola’s (grandma in Filipino) outfits of the day were comfy and chic. A waterproof jacket just in case it started raining – Melbourne often experiences 4 seasons in a day, and a spare pair of flats for Lola to change in to after walking for hours takes a toll on her feet.
