Saturday Styling

Totally different to last week’s Saturday Styling post, this week Baby D dressed it up a little for a special occasion. With our little baby turning one recently, he was so blessed to be surrounded by such loving and amazing family and friends who have showered him with an abundance of cuddles, kisses and love over the past 12 months. Baby D also received such cute clothes from his birthday party and today he wore this combo to his aunty and uncle’s baby shower! I absolutely love the pattern of Baby D’s shirt! – so retro and such a good fit!

My Little Man’s shopping haul at UniHill and more!

A UniHill Factory Outlet Sponsored Feature
Model Daniel
UniHill Factory Outlets 2 Janefield Drive, Bundoora
Open 7 days 10am-6pm

When I found out I was having a boy I was so excited and at the same time thought it would be hard to find it fun dressing him – there always seemed to be so much more girly clothes with frills, bows and glitter everywhere.  Boy was I wrong! I have loved putting together outfits for Baby D and this week I took my little man back to UniHill to find us some bargains for a sprucing up of his wardrobe. Armed with some vouchers and comfortable shoes we shopped up a storm –  check out the goodies we got below! 😀

Baby D’s shopping haul!

Cotton On Kids
$5 down from $24.95 a pair of gumboots $24.95 down to $5!  (handy for next winter when Baby D can splash around in the puddles!)
$20 down from $39.95 denim jacket  (I really wanted a denim jacket for myself so when I saw this I had to get it for my little one!)
$10 down from $24.95 long sleeved shirt (I was looking for a denim shirt but found this light coloured one perfect for summer layering!)
$5 down from $14.95 “Talk to my agent” tee (love this pop of aqua colour! I’ll do a blog post soon of Baby wearing some of these!)
$5 down from $14.95 Raglan long sleeve (I currently have a thing for anything raglan!)
$10 down from $29.95 Skinny jeans (love this colour, so bright and happy for the summer days ahead)

Total: UniHill price for 6 items = $55
                  Retail price for 6 items = $149.7
Saving of $94.70!

Adidas
$14 down from $20 Blue checkered backpack (I’m moving on from a nappy bag to a backpack so it’s easier to carry both Baby and Baby’s things!)

Lonsdale
– Lonsdale baby onesie and Russell Atheltic shorts (I can’t remember the prices for these as mum bought them but seeing that mum bought them means that they were a pretty good deal!)

It was Republica Brands’ opening day when we went and there were some really handsome shirts I wanted to buy but we were pressed for time so I’ll have to go back and check them out on another visit soon as they have 50% off until Saturday! I can’t wait to show you how Baby D has been incorporating his new clothes with some favourites from his current wardrobe (below are some outfit pics).

Okay so the shopping didn’t stop there! After we used up all Baby D’s vouchers, my mum and cousins bought so many other things at places like Cotton On where they were able to buy 6 pairs of shoes for a total of $21 (see pics below)! Tees, raglan tops and some funky purple Gola shoes were just some of the things they picked up. Glad to see that the whole family scored some bargains and we’re already planning our next attack visit to UniHill to get started on the Christmas shopping list.

Happy shopping everyone – I hope this has been helpful to those looking to find some great bargains out there!

What are some bargain buys you have recently purchased and where did you find them!?

My weekend market haul

MMmarket haul

Melbourne Mammas Market – Williamstown Town Hall

We headed down to the Melbourne Mammas Market to get our shopping fix last weekend and grabbed some great bargains on some of our favourite kidswear labels. With so many shopaholics around it was a relief to get in early as it got quite busy inside with prams taking over the aisles – everyone was excited to shop! 🙂 There were around 35 friendly stalllholders ranging from kidswear to toys and storage goods. I left my little one with the better half so I could try and be swift with my shopping so below are the goodies I came home with.

My shopping haul – Styling Daniel!

From left to right in the pictures below:

  •  I started off at the Oranges and Lemons stall and bought a black and grey Alphabet Soup long sleeved top and a Mista TJ flat cap ($44.95 & $19.95 down to $15 each!),
  •  the Funky Little Fella stall was a must-visit and I purchased a cool pair of Sage Oishi-M shorts for my little man ($49.95 down to $20). I was so excited when I found these as I bought great pair of Oishi-M skinny jeans at the last market in March and they’re such good quality not to mention and uber cool! It was also nice to finally meet the lovely ladies behind Funky Little Fella, Caroline and Jo, having bought some cool thread from their online store on previous occasions.
  •  I bought this beautifully soft and organic brown fox top from the Master & Miss stall ($30 down to $15),
  • Right at the end of the second room of stalls I visited the Mr Wolf ladies and bought a pair of comfy, grey Mini Rodini flamingo leggings, ($39.95 down to $18) similar here. I wish there were more sizes for my little one – I would have bought everything displayed! 😉
  • I scored a lovely wooden toy set including a maraca and shaker bells from Just Toyn Around ($14.95 down to $10). Baby D absolutely loves these and has not put them down since I gave them to him!,
  • And lastly I purchased a gorgeous blue coat from A Little Pocket which I had been eyeing from the last Markit at Fed Square back in May ($65 down to $15!).

I also bought some presents for friends but thought I’d better not post them up here in case they’re reading this!

What were some of your market purchases over the weekend? I’d love to see the bargains you snapped up 🙂 xx

Life Lately #5 – Springtime sunshine

anniversary roses The Urban MaIMG_0890

You wouldn’t have picked it from today’s rainy antics but along with the glistening rain, we’ve also already been able to enjoy quite a few days of glorious sunshine here in Melbourne as spring returns. As usual we did a lot of eating, playing and exploring and I also got to meet and catch up with some fellow Melbourne bloggers.  Lately I’ve also gotten the hang of making sure I purposefully close off some days on my calendar so I can just breathe and just…be! Instead of saying yes to every single thing, I have been able to say no leaving me more time to spend doing things I really like. My little Baby D has also recently been sick with his first real cold and this, plus his teething had me suffering from sleep deprivation and exhaustion. Thankfully Baby D has gotten back into the swing of things and is now sleeping quite well again.

Here are some things we got up to in the recent weeks!:

– 1st birthdays galore (post coming up soon on our friend’s dress up party!),
– bloggers events see here, here and here,
Culture Mamas Go Go dancing event (so much fun and I was sweating by the end of it!),
– eating out (Flower Drum, Trailer Park food trucks, Lil Nomnoms food truck, the Winter night market at Vic Market, truffles in Footscray at Guerilla Espresso), Burger Culture)
– also tried cooking pho at home for the first time but I think next time I’ll use stock to lift the flavour a little more!
– attended the open day at Passion Dance Studio and did a KPop dance class!
– celebrated our wedding anniversary and finally got to try Mamasita (we were baby-free for the night, hence the opportunity to wait in line for places that don’t take bookings)
– attended the launch night of council Leadership Alumni and had a lovely night networking with people passionate about making a difference in the community
– attended a Motivating Mum and SheSays event (I love meeting and learning from an array of motivated individuals),
– lots of family time and celebrating Wes’ first fathers day!
– took the dogs to Lort Smith Animal Hospital for a check up (two dogs and a baby in one car equals headache!!)
– did a “little” bit of shopping! (see post here, here and here)
– watched Baby D grow more confident in standing on his own, clapping his hands , pointing to objects we ask about and listened to him turn into a lovely little chatterbox! 🙂

So thankful for life’s everyday blessings -xx-

Late night shopping at Target

With the hubby and bubby in bed so early, I quickly snuck off to take advantage of the 20% off baby sale at Target and use my Target gift card from the other day’s goodie bag! Being around 8.50pm it was shopping bliss! I was there with a shopping list in hand as I can get distracted very easily.

I always do a little happy dance when I scan the price of something and it comes in lower than the sale sticker. In this case it was a couple of plain boys’ tops that scanned in at $1! Score! I bought a heap of Bonds pieces for Baby D as I love using Bonds pieces to style his comfy outfits. I also thought I’d spring clean up our room with some new bedsheets. Oh and I also bought mascara for $4.50 but I forgot to include it in the pics below.

What are some of the things you love to shop for at Target?

My weekend in pictures

FridayWestbournians 2012 funnyfriends

Everybody loves Fridays and last Friday was extra special as my high school friends and I got our kids all together for the first time! It was so beautiful to see that even after all these years and no matter how different and busy our lives are, our friendship remains strong <3

Saturdayhealthy brekkieElephant bum

After such a fun Friday with all the kids, it was heart-wrenching to wake up to the news of what happened in Newtown… Saturday was a write-off. I held bubba all day.  Hubby was away for the whole weekend on a Bucks weekend. Daniel, my sister and I caught up on sleep! Being so close to Christmas it felt good to actually just slow down and reflect  instead of rushing around. I took a picture of my brekkie because hubby and I have been so addicted to it lately! – a bowlful of Special K, blueberries, banana topped with chia seeds. It is soooo tasty and a little inspired by Anna!

SundayMommy rocks bibIMG_0378PortmansChadstoneAffogatochillin with daddy

On Sunday Daniel wore his onesie shirt from Next that I posted in an earlier post…so cute!! He attended his first party – Aiyah’s christening 🙂 Then we picked up daddy from the east side and stopped by Chadstone whilst we were there to have a coffee and people-watch. It was nice to just sit and chill whilst everyone else rushed around! Daniel was enjoying it because lately he is much more aware of his surroundings and wants to know everything that’s going on around him! I found a really nice pair a pants from Portmans but because Daniel wanted to go home I didn’t get to buy them 🙁 …so I bought them the next day from Highpoint! 😛

How did you spend your 2nd last weekend before Christmas?
