Bump Diary #18 – 36 weeks update

36 week quote 36 week meme

How far along are you? 36 weeks and 5 days (full term in only two days!!)
How big is baby? This week Baby is the length of a large cos lettuce. On average around 47.4cms long and weighing nearly 2.7kg in a head-down position. C’mon Baby come out any time now!

Body and changes:

Weight gain I have no idea how much I weigh now but am hoping to jump on some scales at the next midwife appointment just for curiosity’s sake.

– Stretch marks No new stretch marks, just the same ones from last week which is more than I had carrying Mr D.

Sleep Another week of good sleep thank goodness! I find that having a pillow against my back and one at my front to throw my right leg over is super comfy. It may not sound like it but it is! Mr D has been sleeping well also which is great. He is still waking up in the middle of the night/morning and coming into our room but it’s all good..I love waking up to his snuggles.

Maternity clothes I bought some pj pants and a top from Cotton On Body and Coles this past week as I tore a hole in the crotch of one of my pj’s trying to fix the bed sheets. I also bought some shape wear singlets and bottoms to wear for after the birth.

The Other Stuff:
We had a scan this week which was so exciting as we got to see baby one last time on the screen before meeting her in real life! Mr D was super serious watching the sonographer check my belly and watching his baby sibling on the screen.

36 weeks 2015 The Urban MaMy stretchies are starting to show more and more, I feel so huge. Mr D cheekily trying to sneak into the photo.

Hi there babygirl!

Eating lots of toasted cheese, tomato and avocado sandwiches this week with a squeeze of lemon and a little pepper.  I think I’ve had it for breakfast nearly the whole week! Mr D loves it too, minus the tomato. Also loving mangoes at the moment as mum bought some from the fruit and veg store at Highpoint.

My latest breakfast/snack obsession this past week.

Feeling grateful being able to catch up with so many friends and beautiful mamas. We’ve been swapping lots of stories and tips and it feels great to have such support and wisdom at my fingertips.

Needing to organize the pantry and fridge with a snack shelf for Mr D so that when Baby comes he can help himself whenever he gets hungry.

Wanting to go shopping, shopping and more shopping! Argghh I need to shop! Maybe after Wednesday lol!! (there’s a shopping night at Highpoint and I have a list of things I need/want to get!).

Watching dance vids on Youtube – I can’t wait to get back into class.

Bookmarking organization tips that will help us when baby #2 comes along like a snack shelf, closet organization and cleaning. It’s the little things like this that I never really thought of but I can tell will make a difference to my mood and energy!

Noticing how fast this pregnancy has gone by…this year in general has just flown by.

Enjoying watching Mr D take part in his first ever swimming lesson. It was just a trial but I think we’ll enrol him for a weekly class as he loved it so much and it would be a great skill for him to have. I didn’t start him earlier as he was already comfortable in the water. It was great to see that in his first lesson they already had to grab a stick under the water and wander away from their parents so I feel like he learnt a lot.

Soaking up the sun in the park with his monster truck, online shopping delivery from Adairs – loving the Rose Garden scent by Mercer & Reid, Mr D’s messy room before I cleaned it up and re-arranged it (the closet was worse!), cheesy baked cauliflower 🙂

Happy baby The Urban Ma blogMr D has been the cheekiest this week! – here he is sticking stickers all over Daddy’s face and finding it so funny!

Daddy: What are you grateful for today Daniel?
Daniel: Thanks to God for Mummy, Daddy and my pillows and monster trucks. Uhhhh and thanks to God for my toys. Can we go to Noosa again? (He keeps mentioning Noosa lately!).

This little man wants to go on another holiday already! I’ll have to book something even if its a staycation in the city like we did here, or a nice quick trip like The Be Family took to Tassie – I still haven’t been!! My parents also went and said it would be a great weekend getaway to get some fresh, fleshy oysters so I think it will suit a post partum celebration 🙂

Have you been continuing to practice gratitude in the past week? What have you been grateful for?

Bump Diary #10 – 29 week update

Happiness is homemade The Urban Ma 29 weeks pregnant

How far along are you? 29 weeks and 5 days

How big is baby? This week Baby is as big as a butternut pumpkin! On average around 38.6cms long and weighing just under 1.2kg. Baby’s muscles and lungs are continuing to mature and Baby’s bones are hardening – that might explaining the stronger movement I’ve been feeling and I can know actually see bumps in my tummy when Baby pushes out! Looks so freaky!

Body and changes:

Weight gain Haven’t weighed myself this week but feeling good despite the fact that I’m getting more and more uncomfortable bending down to put my shoes on and pick things up off the ground.

Stretch marks Continuing my daily routine of belly butter in the mornings and oil in the evenings

Sleep I’ve been a little uncomfortable this week and needing more pillows around me to get into a position where I can fall asleep. Ugghhh

Maternity clothes? Been loving these black work maternity pants I got from my mum! So comfy but still corporate-looking 🙂

The Other Stuff:
Reflux is back and this past week I’ve been chewing on one Quick-Eze nearly every night to make the acidic feeling in my throat go away! This week too my body has reminded me yet another way that it is a baby making and baby delivering machine – leaking a little colostrum now and then. Lucky I’ve been wearing thick layers of tops and scarves due to the cold weather! I’ve been so forgetful this week! – left my mobile phone at the self serve checkouts at Coles an misplace my purse twice in 2 days! – luckily for me there are still honest peeps in this hood an when the hubby went back to Coles to check if my phone was there, they had kept it behind the counter for me!

Eating lots more veggies this week after having a dietitian come into work on Wednesday to educate us about general nutrition and healthy habits tips. After having to fill in a quick food diary of what we ate the day before, it highlighted to me that I’m not getting enough veggies.

Feeling like I want to go on another holiday already! I need me some more of that good old Queensland sunshine.

Needing to more organised in the bedrooms and sort through Mr D’s clothes to declutter his wardrobe.

Wanting fresher produce down here like those juicy, sweet, sweet strawberries we had in Brisbane and Noosa.

Missing being able to carry Mr D 🙁

Watching those hilarious videos by Mikey Bustos (a Filipino/Canadian Youtuber comedian who does really funny parodies and tutorials about the Pinoy culture – check out some of his videos here and here! LOL!)

Bookmarking where to go for our next holiday (still!) and loads of cute mummy and son pics on Instagram! The one below is from @shalicenoel – I absolutely love her style and all the shoes in her posts!

Noticing how much more tired I am these days. It’s like it’s hit me all of a sudden that I am now in the third trimester with only several more weeks to go!

Enjoying hearing Mr D talk so much and loving how he’s always surprising me! Last night after his bath he found his baby cologne (a gift from my relatives from the Philippines) and he handed it to me and said “Mummy can you put this on me so I smell so good?” LOL! And then when Daddy came to see what was happening, Mr D leaned over and made Daddy smell his neck. So cute! Kids! – where do they get this from?!

Just a few things we did last clockwise from top left: One of @shalicenoel’s posts from Instagram, my healthy brekkie on Saturday morning was avocado, boiled egg, tomato and asparagus with a squeeze of lemon and salt and pepper – it was so goo and creamy!, a morning walk in the park before starting work as we had been told told to do something for our wellbeing and not start work until 11am! It was so lovely…cold but lovely, looks like a bomb hit our room with all the unpacking needing to be put away from our holiday…ugghh I hate this part!

Playing Masterchef at home with Daddy. Seasoning the pork belly for our rolls before putting the lid on the pressure cooker! Turned out sooooo soft and yummy.  Mr D enjoying the tea from the newly opened food precinct at Highpoint Shopping Centre after his cool new haircut at Just Cuts.

Daddy: Daniel do you want to say thanks for anything today?

Daniel: Thanks to God for the the light, the door, my bed, the moon. Thanks to God for Daddy. Thanks to God for Mummy. Thanks to God for Tita (Aunty) Arielle. Thanks to God for Baby. – Just like last week he kept reeling off a list of things he wanted to say thank you for like he just wanted to cover everything!

What were you grateful for last week? Have you been practicing gratitude lately?

Rozzi’s at Highpoint

A new cafe in the West, Rozzi’s Italian Canteen, a nice big mug of coffee for brekkie, Eggs benedict

Rozzi’s Italian Canteen, Highpoint Shopping Centre, Rosamond Rd, Maribyrnong

Cuisine: Cafe-style with cold salads, focaccias, and cakes in the window and made to order meals on the menu.

Location: Accessible location at the entrance of the new food hall and close to the elevators and escalators.

Service: We came for brunch on a Sunday and it was starting to get busy however we received our coffee and our meals in good time by friendly staff and patient staff.

Food: We both ordered the eggs Benedict, which is rare as we always try to order different dishes so that we can taste more of the menu! It was such a good blend of buttery, smooth flavours and the eggs were poached beautifully. Beautiful presentation.

Drink: I didn’t order any drinks but the better half ordered a cap and it came out in a huge FRIENDS-like mug with a nice aroma 🙂

Kid-Friendly?: Yes! Easy access from the carpark and we were able to arrange our chairs around our table to accommodate our pram!

We wanted to find a comfortable place to enjoy a nice brunch in the sun and decided to check out the new cafe at Highpoint. Rozzi’s is located at the entrance of the food hall section with lots of natural light shining through the windows and both indoor and outdoor seating. After having their deliciously, creamy eggs Benedict and being able to accommodate our pram, we will definitely be coming back to try more! Their salads look delish!!!
