Date night – A cozy Italian night
Cafe Terroni, 18 Ballarat st, Yarraville
It was a Monday night and little did we know that most of the restaurants down Yarraville’s cute little Ballarat street were closed on Mondays. Yim Yam was open and as much as we love that place we thought we’d try something different for what could be our last date night in a while!
Just a block or two closer to the Sun Theatre were a few Italian places we thought looked like the perfect place for a romantic kid-free dinner. Dim candle lit tables were inviting us in to try out Cafe Terroni. I was worried we didn’t have a booking but the staff happily gave us a few seating options and we chose to sit at the bar at the window.
– fast fried white bait with aioli (it was on the specials board)
– salmon with cauliflower puree and an apple and walnut saland (also on the specials board)
– Parmigiana di melanzane e ricotta – traditionally layered eggplant with ricotta cheese and tomato sugo served with rocket and parmesan salad
As it was such a hot night we decided to go for a walk and have an ice cream over at Hello Gelo. I had the maple walnut flavor while the hubby had good old chocolate.
It was nice to have uninterrupted conversation with the better half and felt so relaxing not having to rush around anywhere…but at the same time we were so glad to pick Mr D up from grandma’s house giving him lots of cuddles and kisses before bedtime! He’s so soft and always so happy to see us 🙂 Blessed.
