Dinosaur Adventures, Gate 20 Caulfield Racecourse
Open now until July 20, 2014

Last night I drove straight from work, picked up Toddler D and headed excitedly to Caulfield Racecourse for a dinosaur adventure. Greeted with a grand tent and loud roars we entered this year’s must-see kids holiday event with big smiles on our faces; and when we got inside there were smiles and wide-eyed kids and parents exploring the well laid-out dinosaur land. After a jam-packed week at work, it was so nice to be able to spend some quality time with Daniel seeing his eyes light up with both amazement and a little fear!

We were kept occupied for hours with:
– 3D dinosaur making
– sandpit digging
– fossil digging
– jumping castles
– games and displays
and more IMG_4353IMG_4354IMG_4362

As we rushed straight from work to see the dinosaurs, we were happy to see food and drinks for sale, ATM’s readily available and easy access to clean bathrooms. Staff were friendly and we also hung out with the Flinstones! 🙂 With all this going on the true stars of the night were the giant, moving and roaring dinosaurs – with facts about each one accompanying the displays the event was not only great fun, but also educational. Make sure you get in and book your ticketshere before all the sessions sell out!

Dinosaur story time proved popular with the older kids and they were seated quietly listening to the ranger absorbing interesting stories and facts about these prehistoric giants. There were also guided tours of the arena and couple with effective lighting, wind and sounds all made for a fabulous Friday night out with our little one.

Santa’s Magical Kingdom 2013 – Melbourne

Merry Christmas 2013!

Santa’s Magical Kingdom Nov-Dec 2013, Burnley Oval

With all the Christmas parties, gathering and festivities finished for another year I finally got to sit down and post some photos from our trip to Santa’s Magical Kingdom! We were invited to the opening preview night and there were many a happy face ready to meet Santa and Mrs Claus and experience all the magic under the big tent.

It was our first visit to Santa’s Magical Kingdom and it was so much fun for both the kids and the adults! My husband and I took my 11 month old, my 6 year old goddaughter and my 18 year old cousin and we all had such a memorable time We attended the evening time slot and the anticipation built up outside while we were waiting for the doors to open. From outside we could see the huge tent, a ferris wheel and a giant slide. As soon as they opened the doors everyone was greeted by Mrs Claus and festive music playing throughout the whole place. Lights, rides, laughter and a snowfall lit up the magical kingdom as we walked around deciding what to do first.

The kids when on the caterpillar ride about 3 times and loved getting their hands on some sand art. My little one was mesmerized by the falling snow and all the lights and baubles. There was also gingerbread decorating, story time with Mrs Claus and lots of rides to cater for kids of all ages. After having explored the big tent we were all invited into the second tent to watch the circus and having not been to a circus since I was a little kid I enjoyed it as much as those decades younger than me! The talented performers all had us on the edge of our seats and I really liked watching the lady in the wheel – so graceful and flexible.

The night was well planned out with just the right amount of proplr to create a joyous atmosphere yet still keep the queues for the rides to a bearable wait time. There is food, show bags and merchandise available and an ATM at the entrance. There was ample space to bring a pram and there were roving mascot characters that we got to take photos with. We also spotted a celebrity or two!

Make sure you don’t miss out next year and book your tickets as soon as they go on sale as nearly all of the sessions this year were sold out! There were two sessions a day to choose from, an afternoon or an evening session. So many activities in one place for the kids to take part in on their school holidays, we’ll definitely be back again next year! Thanks for having us 🙂 xx
