Cacao Green, Chadstone Shopping Centre
With the latest Cacao Green frozen yoghurt (froyo!) chapter opening a couple of weeks ago, myself and some fellow bloggers were invited to taste the wonderful array of waffle and froyo goodness at Chadstone Shopping Centre. Cacao Green specializes in providing all natural, organic yoghurt and supports fair trade and sustainable ingredients and is the sister company of Red Mango who have been operating since 2002 in several countries around the world.
We were presented with a banquet of frozen yoghurt-filled cups dressed with various delicious toppings like lychee popping pearls and chewy marshmallows (YUM!), savoury and sweet waffles, fresh fruit smoothies, parfaits and coffee to finish it off. I couldn’t pick a favourite from the froyo flavours as they were all so good and very well complimented with the extra toppings chosen. My favourite parfait however was the mixed berry parfait and the classic strawberry and choc waffles really hit the spot. While all the food and desserts were nicely presented and delicious, greater attention could have been paid to the coffee art on my soy latte, especially since they serve quality St Ali beans. If you’re not much of a sweet tooth, Cacao Green also offer savoury waffles and are even open for breakfast – I enjoyed the ham and cheese waffle, you can’t go wrong with anything melted cheese!
All in all, it was a great way to spend an afternoon. It was so lovely finally put a face to the name of some foodie bloggers I’ve seen online. We sure knew how to eat, chat and take photos , so much so that we didn’t realise all the shops around us were closing for the day.
Have you tried Cacao Green? If so, what were your faves? If not, they can be found at several locations in the CBD and eastern suburbs.
Melted cheese and ham waffle, getting ready for the froyo adventure with blogger Jenny from Confessions of a Little Piggy, banana and almond waffle, spinach, kiwifruit and watermelon fruit smoothies, mango and raspberry & mixed berry parfaits, our froyo feast!.
A big thank you to Valissa from Nuffnang and the crew at Cacao Green Chadstone for organising this event and bringing us together.
This month I decided to try out some products from Lush as I really liked their lip colour that I received in my January Lust Have It beauty box (previous post here). I have read a lot of great reviews about their Dream Cream doing wonders for people who have eczema so I decided to buy it and try it out when I went in to get a free sample of their 9 to 5 Cleanser.
The sample cleanser came in a little plastic container and you could easily get around 4 or 5 uses of the cleanser however I went a little crazy when I first tried it and used up too much! It has quite a strong scent as it has ylang ylang oil and having sensitive skin I am used to using products that are unscented so I immediately thought that I might break out after using this. Having used it for about 3 days now, it works quite well however doesn’t remove my make up so overall I think I might stick to my cleanser wipes as they are easy to use and easily remove my make up at the end of the day.
I purchased the Dream Cream for $28.95 and was really excited to try it out due to all the rave reviews. Again like the cleanser however, it has such a strong scent from the lavender and tea tree oil. My eczema has somewhat gotten quite bad over the past few weeks and I don’t know if it’s the change in weather or my lack of sleep etc but I really wanted to find something that would make it all go away. After using the Dream Cream for the first time on Wednesday my skin felt soft and I felt quite a cooling sensation when I applied this after my shower. Yesterday however, I used it again and I got quite itchy after wearing it for a while 🙁 I might try using it again but just on a small part of my arm or something to see what happens because I really want it to work!!
Another new thing I tried recently was the 5am organic yoghurt and OMG it tastes so good!! I initially bought the coffee bean flavour but after tasting that it was so deliciously creamy, my hubby and I went back to Woolworths to buy all the other flavours and they too tasted amazing!
It’s such a gamble sometimes when trying out new body creams and mositurisers as my skin is so sensitive but I guess that’s the only way you get to finding out what works and what doesn’t work right?!
What are some new things you have tried so far this year?
